Developing Automotive Talent in New Mexico

We’ve got some exciting news to share with you. As owner of Advantage Automotive and the President of the NAPA AutoCare Group, I’m excited to talk about our partnership with NAPA and ACE Leadership High School.

We’re joining forces to address an issue close to our hearts – the shortage of skilled mechanics in our community. With more than 40 job listings for mechanics in Albuquerque, it’s clear that we need more hands on deck. But where do we find them?

Enter ACE Leadership High School. This innovative institution is providing students with the opportunity to shadow different leaders in the NAPA Parts operation. These young minds will be joining us for a tour of the shop, a discussion about auto repair as a career, and a glimpse into a trade that offers tremendous opportunity.

Why are we doing this? Well, the answer is simple. We want to invest in our future workforce. We want to show these students the ins and outs of the automotive industry – from technical skills to inventory management to store sales and operations. And we want to equip them with the skills they’ll need to succeed in this line of work.

Our partnership with ACE Leadership High School is part of our commitment to developing local talent. We’re proud of the unique Apprentice Program available to us through NAPA, which has been helping to develop local mechanics within the market. Programs like ACE is providing is another step in that direction.
